Earth Day

Happy Earth day Everyone

No, you can’t eat it. It’s soap….

Henry and I are still making soap for the market. We just made this Hemp soap for campers and gardeners or that Earth lover in you. Nice and gritty.

This soap is made with Olive oil, Hemp oil, Palm oil, Cocoa Butter and Lanolin.

We added walnut husks, poppy seeds and a bit of coffee for the top.

Nicely scented with Lemon Eucalyptus to keep those bugs at bay.

It’s also a rainy Sunday, the perfect day to play Bug-opoly with the kids.

  1. I love your products and philosophy they truly speak to the heart and soul. I was reading your recent soap making post and saw that one of the ingredients is palm oil, I just recently found out that palm oil is a huge contributor of the deforestation of the rainforests and the devastating loss of the inhabitants. I only felt compelled to tell you because perhaps like me, you were not aware of this situation and would want to know.

    1. Thank You for your comment and bringing this to our attention. We were totally caught off guard with regard to the major issues concerning the production of palm oil and didn’t do adequate research on how the oil was being produced or its exact origin. All I was able to find out was that it came from the Philippines, which really doesn’t tell us much, using common sense this may just be the distribution center for a much broader product base.
There is only a very small amount of palm oil used in this particular soap however in consideration any amount used is too much. We are definitely not purchasing or using any more of these oils in our products and will now be more vigilant in researching the origin and production of this oil.
Thank you for your input and providing me with the initiative to further enhance my understanding about this important environmental issue.
